We have been visiting this site every year for around 20 years, with 4 generations of our family coming to stay. It never fails to amaze me how wonderful the site is. The site is perfectly maintained, well run and the facilities are so clean and equipped. The pitches are large and flat with lots of space for kids to play. The views are spectacular and the location is ideal for visiting surrounding areas. The owners charge a fair price and unlike many sites do not over charge or over book to make more money. We look forward to our stay every year, it feels like home.

This is an exceptional touring park. Facilities are plentiful, modern and clean. Family shower rooms and a baby/disabled shower room in addition to mens and ladies. Lovely flower beds and baskets, good views, so much to see and do in the area.

Stunning and pristine site, spacious pitches and wonderful views all around. Service was good for booking and when arriving to find the pitch. Lovely stroll down to Stoke Gabriel from here in around 15 mins but there is also a bus stop up the road. Loved the big dog field, so did the dogs! Showers and toilets were immaculate. Will return.

A very well organized site. Best follow site route that they advise. Avoid village of Aich. Very narrow and limited passing places. Well mowed grass pitches. Large enough and lots of high hedges. Our pitch had water, electric and drainage. Toilet block really clean and modern. Nice showers and dish wash area. Water always hot. Family showers. Dog friendly. Little book library. We intend to visit area again and book this site. Spoke to several people who use the site frequently.

We've been coming to Higherwell twice a year for over twenty years and still love every minute we are here. Very friendly and approachable owners who always have time for a chat. The plots are spacious and mostly grass but we've never had any cause for concern on any visit wet or dry. Everywhere is exceptionally clean and tidy at all times, especially the shower rooms, toilets and facilities. Excellent value for money. A lovely rural setting with rolling field views. Paignton, Goodrington and several major stores are a ten minute drive away. It is also an ideal base to visit other sights in South Devon. Roll on the next twenty years...

We have never stayed in this part of Devon before having always shot through en-route to Cornwall. Whilst staying at Looe, we were returning through the Tamar Bridge route and decided to stop for a night to try out the area. We had a few choices of sites but chose this for price and its proximity to Stoke Gabriel village which was a lovely little place with two pubs, a church, mini community orchard and a seafood shack by the river. Also a little convenience store packed with lovely local produce and great frozen meals to take away. Veggie options were superb! We loved the welcome at the site and the location. It wasn’t overly busy at this time of year and on a Tuesday…large fields and a sense of peace and tranquility in the evening. Ramps are needed on the grass pitches. They only have a couple of hard standings. Grass was firm and we pitched at the head of the field in case it rained and we could roll down lol our motorhome is 7.9m so we have to be careful. Facilities very clean and lovely showers that you don’t have to press the button constantly! Roads are tight getting in but that seems the norm in Devon! Pay attention to the directions on the site page and not sat nav. Avoid Aish Road if coming from Totnes direction!! One slight thing is that the dog walk is a fenced off area at the top of the back field and it was broken and rolled back at the top end and down in places along the perimeter…not an issue though for us as there’s so much space outside down the lane but needs a mention. You are provided with a map on arrival and the owner is very knowledgeable of the area and is happy to advise if needed. We took a left out of the site and walked down the lane before taking a right down to a sign that says no through road on the edge of Stoke Gabriel. There’s a little gap in the fence and a narrow alley down to the river walk to the seafood shack and boat hire place. Wonderful place and we will return for longer next time!

We've stayed here a few times in our motorhome just for 1 night. It's perfectly located for walking into Stoke Gabriel on the river Dart. Facilities are excellent. Site is clean and tidy and pitches on various levels. No shop on site but there is one in Stoke Gabriel plus eateries. Would definitely recommend 👌

Very nice site, and nice clean shower/toilet facilities. It is nice to be able to shower without having to keep pushing the button to keep the water on! Really warm too! My only gripe about the site is the hard standings for touring have no gravel pathways meaning wet and muddy grass is unavoidable on wet days. Bins could be bigger too. Otherwise a very peaceful site with refreshing views.

We stayed here for 7 nights with our dog and two children and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful location, spacious pitches and relaxed atmosphere. Clean and tidy toilets and showers. The water pressure in the showers was really good, as was the temperature, and none of those push on taps you have to hold down to achieve an uninterrupted flow! Very dog friendly with a large dog walking field. Really tranquil at night so a good sleep was had by all. We would love to return next year.
